- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices are based on time, distance, and services needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a vet tech for 25+years, completed a 2 year formal hands on dog training apprenticeship, head trainer for years of dog training classes at Tractor Supply, former founder of a No kill shelter that was set up as a doggie daycare, former ADPT certified trainer, and former AKC CGC Evaluator. I also have a small farm and am familiar with large animal care.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a connection with and love for animals. People started bringing me rescue dogs when I was only 5 years old. I loved nursing them back to health. So I guess you would say, Sleepy, my first dog (an emaciated near death American Spitz) was my inspiration.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most common customers are pet training, behaviour consults and trouble shooting, creating custom POA (plans of action) for trouble behaviour, and pet sitting.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am proud of all the work I do with animals and their pet parents, although the most fun is trick training.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Please research the person and methods of such person prior to working with them. These are children not just pets to some people. Never let someone use harsh or dominating behaviour with your pets.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish customers knew how to effectively communicate with their pets.
